Moline, IL — QC Pride Inc. announces the cancellation of the 2026 QC Unity Pride Parade, originally scheduled for June 6, 2026. After evaluating sponsor engagement, participation levels, and the increasing costs associated with hosting a large-scale, multi‑jurisdictional event, the organization determined that proceeding this year would not be feasible.
The QC Unity Pride Parade has been a powerful symbol of connection in the Quad Cities, linking organizations across two states and bringing residents together in celebration of LGBTQIA+ visibility and pride. Its impact extends far beyond the parade route and the work to maintain this relationship to the QC area continues.
This decision was not made lightly, as the annual Unity Pride Parade is deeply important to us, and we know it is important to many across the region. Our goal is always to represent the LGBTQIA+ voices and celebrate pride with the care and quality our community deserves.
QC Unity remains committed to creating spaces that uplift LGBTQ+ voices and experiences and is already exploring new ways to engage the community throughout the rest of the year and remains committed to returning with events that reflect the spirit and energy the parade has always represented.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported the parade including marchers, volunteers, sponsors, and spectators for your dedication in prior years, and hope to stay connected once planning begins for the 2027 Bi-State Unity Pride Parade. Your energy and love have shaped this tradition, and we look forward to building what comes next, together. QC Pride Inc. also emphasizes that the 2026 Quad Cities Pride Festival scheduled for June 5-6, remains fully underway. The pride festival will kick off Pride Month in Quad Cities followed by many events scheduled throughout the rest of the month from community organizations.
